The CWRC initiates a level IV emergency response to flood and drought disaster prevention
At 10:00 on July 2, the inflow of the Three Gorges Reservoir reached 50,000 cubic meters per second, and the No. 1 flood in the Yangtze River in 2020 formed in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. On the morning of July 2, Mr. Ma Jianhua, Commissioner of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission, presided over the meeting of the flood control conference, which analyzed and judged the current flood control situation, deployed flood defense and reservoir scheduling and started the emergency response of the Yangtze River flood and drought disaster at 1:00 on July 2 .
Mr. Ma Jianhua emphasized that due to the recent continuous heavy rainfall, the flood control situation in the river basin is becoming more and more serious. All departments and units must maintain a high degree of alertness and do a good job in all defenses. It must pay close attention to weather changes, strengthen monitoring, forecasting and early warning, and keep rolling consultations; scientifically manage the Three Gorges, Danjiangkou and other main and tributary control reservoirs, and adjust the scheduling plan in time according to the actual situation. It is necessary to strengthen the supervision and inspection of reservoir dispatching and operation, and guide the normal operation of large and medium-sized reservoirs.
